Match Preview – Team Solent vs South Shields

Team Solent will take on South Shields this Saturday at Test Park, with both sides setting their sights on the quarter-finals of the FA Vase.

Initially, it was last year’s winner Morpeth Town who looked to be sailing into the next round as they led 4-2 against ten-man Shields, but a floodlight failure caused the game to be abandoned with eight minutes remaining.

South Shields capitalized on this, as they emerged as the victors at Morpeth’s Craik Park, winning the game four goals to nil.

Meanwhile, goals from Tobi Adekunle, Ellis White and captain Jesse Waller-Lassen inspired The Sparks to a 3-0 win over Croydon, advancing them to the fifth round.

The match looks to be a promising encounter, as Wembley will almost certainly be in the minds of all involved.

Crowd attendance is set to surpass 400, as several hundred South Shield supporters travel to Southampton in the hopes to see their side reach the quarterfinals.

Reaching the fourth round of the most prestigious non-league cup competition was the furthest Team Solent has managed in their history. They progressed once again and will not want this run to end.

Kick off is at 3 pm and tickets can be bought from the club shop or at the turnstiles for an adult fee of £6 and £3 concession.
