Match Preview – Team Solent vs AFC Portchester

Team Solent will be looking to capitalise on their good home form once again this weekend.

The Sparks face AFC Portchester at Test Park on Saturday at 3pm.

Solent come into the game having halted a poor run of form with a dominant 7-2 home win over Shaftesbury FC last weekend.

In-form striker Hisham Kasimu and midfielder Tyrell Mitford both scored twice each against Shaftesbury, but goals will be harder to come by against Portchester.

AFC Portchester also approach the game full of confidence, after a 3-1 home win against Amesbury Town FC.

They are in the top five in this league for the lowest number of conceded goals, and this defensive frugality has pushed them into promotion contention if they can win their games in hand.

AFC Portchester have relied on their striker Thomas Scott, a player who tops the league this season for total goals with 26. On top of this, the Solent net has been found often this season, something they will need to tighten up with if they want to win these tough matches.

A second home win on the bounce could lift the home side safely into mid-table – if results go their way – after a brief relegation scare in recent weeks.

James Taylor’s men have demonstrated this season that they can beat anyone in this league at home, so this should prove an open and exciting game.

Tickets can be purchased for as low as £3 at the gates of Test Park, but if you cannot make it be sure to follow the live twitter updates on @TeamSolentFC
