Ecstatic Solent ready for FA Vase run

Team Solent manager James Taylor described his feelings as ‘ecstatic’ following their impressive 2-0 victory over high flying Tavistock AFC in the FA Vase.

“They were a good side and they proved that tonight. They had lots of chances, but we also played really well.” Said Taylor.

The Solent’ gaffer didn’t beat around the bush when deciding his man of the match “Brad was definitely man of the match for me with his great saves.”

This comes as no surprise, as the Gibraltar U21 stopper showcased a portfolio of world class saves that kept the Sparks in the game.

“The Vase is something we think we can go far in, I was here last year when we did quite well, and I think we can do that again this year.

“I’m obviously happy with the clean sheet but this is a team game, we won, and we are moving onto the next round.” The humble keeper added.

This message was echoed by team captain Curtis Thorn, when asked who impressed him the most his response was clear:

“All of us, absolutely everyone, we left it all out there and I cannot say enough of all of the boys.”

Next up in the Vase is a trip to Bradford Town FC, and the message is simple from manager Taylor.

“We need to keep working hard, that is the key to football, if we work hard and out match teams in the work rate then we have the ability to kill people off”.

Team Solent face an away trip to Bradford Town in the third on December 2nd where the winners will progress into the round of 16.
