Match Preview - Team Solent vs Shaftesbury

Team Solent face a tough fixture against Shaftesbury FC at Test Park tomorrow.

The Solent first team come into the game on the back of some recent poor form. Shaftesbury on the other hand, approach the match unbeaten in three games.

Before their recent wobble, the Sparks were unbeaten in seven games at Test Park but have stumbled to a draw and loss in their last two games.

In their last Sydenham’s Wessex Premier League fixture, the Rockies obliterated top eight side AFC Portchester so will be in confident mood ahead of their trip across Hampshire.

They will go into the game as favourites, as they currently sit 11th in the division. The home side are looking over their shoulder in 19th, although they are seven points ahead of the relegation zone.

But no game is predictable, Solent have some talented players that the visitors will have to be wary of, including the strike force of Hisham Kasimu and Silvano Obeng, who returned in last week’s 4-0 FA Vase loss to Bradford Town. Another is Tyrell Mitford, the marksman for his side in the 1-1 home draw against Portland United two weeks ago.

If they beat their opponents on Saturday afternoon (3 pm kick off), Solent could well turn their dip in form around with a win and could well go on another long unbeaten run.

When you’re in the bottom half of the table every game is hard but Solent have proven they have enough talent to beat anyone in the league, especially at home.
